I decided not to see Marty Supreme this afternoon.
I'm done with work early, at 3pm. I was planning on going to the 3:20pm show at Regal. But who can be bothered to go to the theater at all these days? I guess I've changed with the times.
Here are my Top Ten Reasons I Chose Not to Watch Marty at the Regal.

I hate ads and previews. A movie should start at its advertised start time. When a movie is advertised to start at 3:20, I hate not knowing if it will start at 3:30 or 3:45. I went to a movie earlier in 2025 in which the previews did not even begin until 15 minutes after the advertised start time.

I like going to matinees, but going to a 3:20 start time means that I'd be staying out until at least 6pm. I don't like driving in the dark if I don't have to. Staying out until 6pm means that I'd be driving in the dark.

I'm tired of Hollywood stars.

I particularly dislike Timothée Chalamet.

I'm not convinced that the Safdie brothers splitting up is good for anyone.

Marty Supreme-sized has a 2h29 minute runtime with no intermission. I think maybe it will be better for me to wait for Marty Medium-sized with a pause option at home.

If I go to Regal, I'm going to buy a giant popcorn and a giant diet cola. That's a lot of carbs and aspartame I don't need at a stupid price that I'll regret paying. I can get a huge bag of Farmer Jon's popcorn and a case of Coke Zero for less than the concession price.

Did I mention the price? Between the snacks and the movie ticket, it's at least $30.00+. That's ridiculous. I need to be more frugal in 2026.

I miss the Cinema Saver so much. Going to Regal or AMC just makes me even more sad about it.

My dad called me this morning and asked me to stop in after work to help him move his broken refrigerator. Sorry, Marty. Even if there weren't all of those other good reasons to avoid you, this is one reason I can't (or at least shouldn't) avoid.
